Montenegro's tourism revenue over EUR 500 million

22.07.2009

Nearly 100,000 registered tourists are currently staying in Montenegro in various kinds of accommodation. Last weekend, more tourists than in the same time period last year were registered, for the first time this year.

Even more tourists are expected in the following days, which is an indication that this year’s revenues from tourism in Montenegro could be on the same level as last year’s EUR 540 million. This was announced by Tourism Minister Predrag Nenezic at a press conference in Podgorica yesterday.

Nenezic was unable to comment on the structure of tourists, but he believes that they are mostly from the region, in particular Serbia.

"Now that it’s peak season, all regions, hotels and everyone else in the hospitality industry need to double their effort in providing quality service to our guests", he urged.
