ABM - first Montenegrin bank opens in Moscow

ABM, the first Montenegrin bank to start operating from Moscow, willl make business and private transactions between Montenegro and Russia easier, the bank representatives say. The president of the Executive Board of ABM bank, Oleg Milovidov, said that the base of its clients in Moscow would be residents of the Russian Federation with business interests relating to Montenegro and Montenegrin companies in Russia. “ABM will mostly work on the territory of Russia, but expansion of business onto countries of the ex Soviet Union is under consideration,” Milovidov said.
Montenegro’s Prime Minister, Milo Djukanovic, said that establishing of the first Montenegrin bank in Moscow was an important contribution to development of economic cooperation between Montenegro and Russia. The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) Ljubisa Krgovic, said that opening of a Montenegrin bank in Russia was of particular importance for the entire bank system. “Establishing of this bank is a confirmation of reconstruction of the bank system in Montenegro and its adjusting to the international standards accepted worldwide,” Krgovic said.
The President of the Atlas Group, Dusko Knezevic, said that ABM was the first bank from the territory of former Yugoslavia to get a licence to operate from the Russian Federation. He said that his group wanted to develop investment and financial business in other competitive markets and that activities relating to business expansion in the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates would be intensified soon.
